First, you should definitely be in the next (normal/sane) cabinet to help unravel the extensive corruption networks laid by this so-called "administration." Second, your 30-year plan to reduce the federal debt should be enshrined in the same protection from political meddling as the Fed. You're a treasure.

Hello Jessica,

Your comments are always refreshing. My daughter is fast gaining success as a realtor,

and like you, is often challenged with how to deal with difficult and less than ethical people, not unlike many folks in DC. I sent her your commentary as "must read." Am looking forward one day to your autobiography full of wit and humor.

Cheers.

The character traits you encourage also map well to being a successful lawyer, for whatever that is worth!

Great article. I’m in healthcare and work with students. Lots of entry advice crosses over, so I recognize the shared parts while being baffled by the non shared. Thankful I don’t swim in your water.

Bosses spend a lot of time putting out fires. They love it when new people just don’t make fires for them. Show up on time, get stuff done. Dont bring up constant friction. If it’s assigned to you, bosses like that to be the last time they have to think about stuff. You may hate seeing others get so much leeway and effort and struggle when I’m asking you to be easy for the boss. But those people bosses accommodate constantly have some dimension of indispensability. When you are new, you are VERY disposable usually. So you gotta try to be as low friction as possible.

Jessica, thanks for all you do. I started reading Brian back in the day at the Dispatch first. Holy cow, if you started a political cult I’d be all in. Not sure what we’d call our selves. The “at least let’s be solvent” party or some nonsense. I wish leaders would listen to you. Here’s hoping. Best of luck.
